Perhaps you've spotted more than one of your girl friends wearing beautiful wide leg colorful pants in flowing fabrics and divine prints this summer. I know I have, and own and have worn several of them, almost every day of the week for the past month or so! This is the Epik Wear Craze, lounge wear, fashion pants, beach wear and cover-ups, and it's all over town this summer!
It started out as a teenager's venture, Adriana, who began designing, making and selling Palazzo pants (which first made their debut during the early 1970's, and had a major moment in the 1990's) and beachy lace cover-up pants to her friends just in time for spring break. With a little help of her mom Carmen Irene, the Epik Wear brand was born and is now a small industry of its own! Every other week Epik Wear will launch beautiful new fits, designs and fabrics, and will keep reinventing itself now with Epik Wear Shorts!!! I'm so excited about this launch!
No need by now to confess to my shopping addiction, but I really I'm addicted to these. I started with a couple and now have well over a dozen. I love running errands in them, and are now my only option for traveling. Not only do you look airport chic and trendy, but they are so comfortable I swear I feel I'm traveling in my PJ's.
Epik Wear pants will flare out beautifully from the waste, I like mine floor skimming when in the city during the day or night ,I'll wear them with heels or summer wedges to add some height, and a couple of inches shorter for the lace or chiffon cover ups I'll usually wear with flip flops or bare foot at the beach. I'll wear a flowy solid top, a white or a black tank so it won't compete with the gorgeous ethnic, animal, nautical or groovy prints (among a wide variety of others). I'll layer some necklaces and stack up a few simple gold thin bangles and I'm ready to go! Most of the fabrics drape perfectly around your lower body, and are practically wrinkle free. The wide banded waist styles are my favorite, they will flatter practically every body type and can be worn low on your waist or even shape and cover up your belly on those days you're feeling bloated!
But the most beautiful aspect of Epik Wear are the women behind it. Carmen Irene is a stunning, lovely, kind, gorgeous inside out, classy, creative, delightful, strong, just admirable mother (nope I haven't run out of adjectives yet!) to a 22 year old fresh out of college talented handsome young man Gerardo, and 17 year old now Senior jaw-dropping beautiful Adri. This year she'll be married for 25 years to her sweetheart, Gerardo, for as long as anyone can remember.
Of course you'll want to wear anything they wear themselves, these two statuesque beauties (like mother, like daughter) will rock anything they wear. I tease them they could wear a trash bag over their heads and they'll still look stunning. But what I admire the most is the initiative, creativity, love and hard work that goes into Epik Wear from both of them. They are on the constant search of new designs, fabrics and prints, and just have exquisite taste when choosing all of the above.
